Basic Schedule (Winter)

Basic Schedule for IBS & NSO Winter 2019:

Senior Staff
Senior Staff members who are marrying/married to New Staff members will be a part of the New Staff Training conference team. You will need to arrive on Sunday, January 6, 2019 by 3 p.m. (no additional cost will be incurred for arriving early). You will receive additional information by email in late December.

Worship Team for NST
Those serving on the Worship Team for NST will need to arrive on Saturday, January 5 (no additional cost will be incurred for arriving early). Drums/percussion and a keyboard will be provided. We ask that all other musicians bring their instruments. If this causes additional travel costs, please email newstafftraining@cru.org to discuss options. You will receive additional information by email in late December.

AV Team for NST
Those serving on the AV Team for NST will need to arrive on Friday, January 4 (no additional cost will be incurred for arriving early). You will receive additional information by email in late December.

Basic Schedule for New Staff Training (IBS and NSO) – All Four Weeks:

January 4: AV Team arrives (you will not be charged additional housing costs for arriving early)
January 5: Worship Team arrive (you will not be charged additional housing costs for arriving early)
January 6:
 Senior Staff married to New Staff couples arrive (you will not be charged additional housing costs for arriving early)
January 6/7: New Staff Orientation Participants (who have not been commissioned yet) taking IBS classes arrive
(You are encouraged to arrive on January 6 to allow enough time to prepare, get settled, and buy groceries for this four-week conference. If you choose to arrive on January 7, please ensure that you arrive at the El Caribe by 3 p.m.)
**Please Note** This is not for Returning New Staff who have already been commissioned. See below for your arrival information.

  • January 7: Onsite Registration in Room 1301 from 5-6 p.m. (**UPDATED TIME)
  • January 7: First NST Session:
    • 7 p.m. in the Caribbean Room, first floor on the south end of the hotel
    • Children welcome to attend (no childcare is offered)
  • January 8:
    • NST Late Registration beginning at 8:30 a.m. in Room 1301
    • IBS Orientation, 7 p.m.

January 8: Returning New Staff (who have already been commissioned) taking IBS courses arrive:

  • Onsite Registration will be in Room 1301 from 3-6 p.m.
  • IBS Orientation, 7 p.m.
  • If flights won’t work for you to arrive at the El Caribe on January 8 by 3 p.m., you are welcome to arrive a day early.

January 9-23: Intro to Christian Theology and Bible Study Methods classes
(8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.)
January 23-26: Winter MPD Faith and Finances Conference
(Onsite Registration info will be emailed to those attending only the MPD Faith and Finances Conference. The Faith and Finances content will end at 6 p.m. on January 26.)
January 24: Ministry Day
January 25 – February 3New Staff Orientation
January 29 – February 2MPD training
(Onsite Registration info will be emailed to those attending only the MPD training.)

February 2: New Staff Commissioning Ceremony and Banquet
February 3: Check-out prior to 10 a.m.

Basic Schedule for New Staff Orientation (Only)

January 23: Campus Ministry and AIA New Staff Orientation Participants arrive
If flights won’t work for you to arrive at the El Caribe on January 23, you are welcome to arrive a day early. Make sure to allow enough time to get settled and buy necessary groceries

  • Campus Ministry and AIA NSO Participants Onsite Registration:
    Conference Office / St. Bart’s Room, Thursday, January 24 (1-2 p.m.)
  • First Session for Campus Ministry and AIA NSO Participants:
    Thursday, January 24 (2 p.m.)

January 24: All other New Staff Orientation Participants arrive
If flights won’t work for you to arrive at the El Caribe on the 24th, you are welcome to arrive a day early. Make sure to allow enough time to get settled and buy necessary groceries

  • All other NSO Participants Onsite Registration:
    Conference Office / St. Bart’s Room, Friday, January 25 (8-9 a.m.)
  • First Session for all other NSO Participants:
    Friday, January 25 (9 a.m.)

January 25 – February 3: New Staff Orientation
January 29 – February 2MPD training

*MPD Training Schedule
The schedule for the MPD Training will be 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Tuesday through Friday, and 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m. on Saturday.

On Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday evenings, participants will work with other staff members on various assignments.

Although the training schedule is robust, we trust each participant will see God meet with him or her in transformational ways.
